I did not have high expectation on this trip. However, my impression was proven wrong almost immediately upon setting foot in the campus. The campus ground was vast and I particularly liked the main admin building which features a cafe. The seating area of the cafe was fashioned in the form of a classroom which was interesting.

Nice autumn foliage. Weather was cold 6 degree celcius but feels like -2 degree celcius at that time we travelled. This place is massive with beautiful red leaves.

Normally tourists wouldn't have chance to have meal in the cafeteria of university, so it would be a special experience to have lunch there. We tried RAMEN, UDON & ODEN in central one (I heard there are 8 cafeteria in total), cost a little and tasty! Sure it couldn't compare with the famous restaurant, but it's really nice to enjoy... We had enjoyable walk around the campus grounds. There are free walks conducted by volunteers and an info centre near the entrance. It houses a small cafeteria

A big, leafy campus a short walk from the Sapporo rail station. A few trees have Latin or English labels and in mid-October, there were colorful leaves (I didn't bring the camera and missed, among other things, a big patch of bright blue fall crocus flowers). Much of the campus looks familiar to a visitor from the US. Lots of... More

The campus is a tourist destination by itself. One can get off the train at nearby Sapporo Station, walk a few blocks north taking a few minutes and you are immediately transformed into a different world: wide avenues lined with mature trees whose leaves change wonderfully with the season, teeming with courteous joggers and bikers, beautiful and stately buildings, vast... Historic university with a scenic campus worthy for a tourist visit. Interesting old university buildings. Calm and lush forests.

One of the most beautiful campi that I have ever visited. A lot of open and green spaces. A lot of people use the streets and sidewalks to jog.
