Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located in the center of Sapporo, it is one of the best power spots in Hokkaido. The figure with snow makeup is very beautiful. It is located next to Maruyama Park and the precincts are very large. It is famous for cherry blossoms in spring. It is easily accessible from the city of Sapporo and is also recommended for sightseeing.

The Hokkado Jingu Shrine hoses four deities, including the Emperor Meiji. The Shrine is approached through a torii. It is bad manners to enter the Shrine through the middle of the torii. The torii is meant to frame the Shrine to give the best view. The Shrine burned down in in 1974, but was rebuilt in 1978. The Shrine houses the guardian deities of Hokkaido, it is worthy of respect.

Hokkaido Jingu is a shrine affiliated to Japan's ancient religion, Shinto. Buddhism came later. Shinto is a form of naturalistic religion that is based on traditional practices. Hokkaido Jingu veneratres the early settlers of Hokkaido. Hokkaido Jingu is of moderen constructio, but it certainly radiates an atmosphere of peace and serenity. Shinto and Buddhism are not strictly competitors. Shinto goes back into the mists of time and is said to be "more Japanese."

It is located in a vast site just off Maruyama Park Station. It was just the season of autumn colors and the sidewalk was beautiful with lots of maples. It was slippery because it was after rain. The time was near evening, and after a while he went through the gate, the drum came out and signalled the closing. We prayed at the grand shrine and immediately left. The surrounding area is also blessed with nature and suitable for walks.

The Hokkaido Shrine was not on my radar but I was in the area and wanted to see the shrine during the winter months. The forest surrounding the shrine and shrine itself is beautiful especially covered in snow. This was actually one of my highlights of the trip to Sapporo. There are food vendors outside the shrine. I also recommend walking some of the trails around the park. It was a magical time!

This shrine is about a 5-10 minute walk from Maruyama Koen Station.
I visited it on a friend's recommendation.
As you walk through the park, you will come across several shrines in a very large area, and if you continue walking you will come to the main hall.
It was a weekday, but the area to buy amulets and fortune slips was crowded.
It is a very pleasant place to be in the middle of nature.
I was happy to see squirrels several times.
I realized that it is a very powerful spot.

The Shrine was worth seeing but the crowds were overbearing. We never got to see inside the shrine because we were on a tour and the lineup was too long to wait. Our bus got caught in the traffic jamb and took half an hour to get out of the park. Avoid holiday weekends! But the cherry blossoms were out...the last week in April.

He visited in late November. The snowscape was very beautiful.
Cars are lined up, and they seem to be performing an exorcism against the scattered cars. Close to Sapporo Station and very easy to get to.
The black torii was impressive, although there is no special prominent symbol, and it was spacious inside.

This shrine is a Shinto shrine offour Gods including Emperor Meiji. This shrine is exceptionally beautiful in winter. I felt the calm and serenity around the shrine. Was told to:-
1. wash my hands at the stone basin
2. deposit some money to the offertory box
3. Bow twice
4. Clap my hands twice
5. Bow deeply one more time
for the worshipping process.

Great experience for me!

The reception at the Hokkaido Shrine office is the worst. The customer service attitude is bad. The quality is very low.
Hokkaido's main shrine is disappointing.
The only thing that saved me was that the priest who said the prayer in my car was very friendly.
I'm not sure if I'll change cars next time, but I'll avoid Hokkaido Shrine.
