The area is near the peace park and the Atomic bomb dome. If you wander towards the main street where the trams are you see a myriad of shopping complexes much like the other cities in Japan. Sogo is one of these and located on the 6th floor of the Sogo Shopping complex. Like other centers they have statues of... More

easy to walk up and down this road... where there is Tokyu Hands, Parco, Sogo and more... along the streets where you'd find local dinning locations and other places to shop for local brands etc. easy to note where you are... so that you are not lost in the streets there.

A lot of shops and restaurants..I was able to get what I needed some Japanese socks and the Daiso 100 yen store. It is worth coming here to walk around for exercise and to watch the different tourists and locals..There is an underground shopping area but I only went there to get tourist information..I stumbled into a merchant selling sweet... Great to feel the life, the vibe of a once destroyed city, yes there is just shops, restaurants and all the different trams but that's the point for me life where brefly there wasn't, great positive vibe.

This is the very center of downtown Hiroshima. They have bunch of restaurants, shops and so on to find. The department store SOGO has a Pokemon store inside where Hiroshima-only Pokemon goods are available! Under the intersection of the roads, they have the underground shopping streets called Shareo. Here, they have many shops and restaurant options, too! Even though the... More

I'd call this the "Main Drag" of Hiroshima (Main Street). There are lots of shops along this street selling anything you need-and the major department stores, too. Restaurants can also be found. I found this street to be a very fun place to sit and watch the colorful historic trams rumble past!

If you ride the tram or visit the Peace Park you'll either transfer or stop here. There are lots of places for shopping (serious or window-shopping) and also many restaurants. For tram-spotters, this location is excellent because it's the intersection of different lines and you can see lots of rolling stock. Also, if you buy a tram riding day pass... More

This is just a busy shopping junction one tram stop before the A Bomb Dome. There is a huge SOGO department store on one side, and the underground Shareo shopping centre. Kamiya-cho higashi street car stop is a handy intersection for exploring the south part of the city along Rijo-Dori.
