Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Read the signs, sit for a minute, absorb the details and the "energy" of what's going on here. Look around at the many different cultures and peoples who have come to visit this Pagoda on the same day you have. Most are seeking the same information and feeling you are. Share in that connection and celebrate the unity here.

The pagoda itself is not too interesting and is almost better viewed from down in the city. A short, but rather steep hike to the top is rewarded with excellent views over Hiroshima and the sea. Bringing some water might be a good idea.

The Peace Pagoda is one of those easily spotted from East Hiroshima since it stands at the top of Mount Futaba. That alone feels like a reason to climb up there (do it via the Kinko Inari Shrine so you can walk through all the torii).
There is not much to see of the Peace Pagoda itself, but the view from up there is gorgeous.

This is located adjacent to a cemetery. We felt it was disrespectful to make this a tourist spot and take pictures over the cemetery.
It’s quite a drive and eerie at night. Plus the view is ok (not great)

My sons and I decided to climb really early in morning. We were the only people at on the walk and we really enjoyed. It was a hike and built up an appetite for breakfast. Not sure why more people don't make do the trek.

Went for a hike up the nearby mountain (or big hill?) to the Toshogu Shrine and upwards to the Peace Pagoda - that sits above the township. Passing various shrines along the way, the steep climb was well worth the effort, finally offering panoramic views across Hiroshima from the top.
