The view from Mount Rokko on a good day gives a full impression on Kobe. The mountain top is marked by a huge souvenir shop and cafeteria. But also by a real impressive highlight, an architectural artwork not to miss.

Mt. Rokko is beside its port the symbol of Kobe. There are a farm, a botanic garden, a sky slope and more in this areas, and it is a favorite destination for the local people for excursion. The easiest way to get there is taking a cable car. You can also descend the mountain on the back side to Arima,... More

Even on a hazy day you can see a long way from the top and the views over Kobe are quite something. The cable cars from either end are a good experience in their own right, I'd recommend using the free bus between the two though as although it's not a long walk there are very few foot paths and... Need to research abit on hold to visit this place as you need to take the local bus to the tram station. The nightview is great. you get to see Kobe, Osaka from up there. We dined at the restaurant above waiting waiting for the sun to set. Is a really cold and windy place.

The car ride to Mt Rokko can be nauseating for those who don't like cars. The number of hairpin turns to the top can take its toll on the nausea centre - so don't sit in the back seat - and don't go up after dark or in the fog - you'll need to see where you're going to avoid... More

Mount Rokko has some breathtaking views where you can see both Kobe Harbour and Osaka. On a clear day, you can see Osaka's tallest building, Abeno Harukas. I wasn't sure where to go to see the views, and a friendly bus driver asked me where I want to go. I said I wanted to get higher to see the views,... More

We took the cable car from Arima Onsen to Mt Rokko in August. The view during the trip on the cable car is magnificent. The ride took about 10 minutes. Once reached Mt Rokko, we went to the observation area and that provided a nice view of the entire Kobe port and airport. There is a botanical garden, a golf... More

My friend and I drove to the top area of Rokko Mountain named Rokko Garden Terrace, where Peter Rabbit Fair has been held till the end of August. Now in Japan, the ground has been heated and terribly hot, over 35 ℃, but when we got out of my car, we felt the breeze, cool, and comfortable. I don't think... More

We could not have timed our trip up Mt. Rokko for a better part of the year. The flowering trees were all coming into blossom and the whole mountain was alive with different colors. The road up is quite winding with many switchbacks and crossovers and they are upgrading some barriers to landslides on some hillsides. Not for thrill seekers... More

You can go to the top by hiking, or use the quaint (but very safe and well-run) cable car. Although the view on a clear day is much bandied about, it is also a great activity for a rainy or foggy day. A bus from the cable car station will take you to various spots on the hill top, one... More
