great place to hike up the garden and enjoy one of the largest herb gardens in Japan. You can even take Shin-kobe ropeway halfway till the garden's lower entrance and then hike up from there. the view of the city from top is mesmerizing. this is certainly worth a visit if you are visiting Kobe.

Our family of 5, ages 12, 8 and 5, enjoyed riding the gondola up to the upper station of the gardens. We had some snacks and smelled the numerous essential oils available. There is a nice foot bath outside the glasshouse at the middle station. Beautiful view of the city.

A beautiful and peaceful place. Not many people when I visited on a weekday. There's a free hot foot bath area but pls bring your own small towel. It seems too hot so I didn't try it. The herbal cookies that were on offer were delicious. I especially love the lavender cookies - the smell is so strong & wonderful.... More

I find this attraction very relaxing and leisurely. From Shin-Kobe station, just follow the signs to find the ropeway station. A round trip in the cablecar costs 1400 yen. The ride up offered up and down offered panaromic views of the city of Kobe. At the top station, you can visit a fragrance museum and just enjoy the cool weather... More

View from the top was amazing. We took the cable car to the top and decided to hike down. Although if you choose to do this I recommend going earlier so it isn't dark when you're walking through the mountain (scary!) Also as you're walking down from the mountain, there aren't obvious directions to the station. Just turn when you... More

And the sausage shop, I recommended beverage called the 'rose cider' which is very delicious and smells the roses price 400 ¥ per bottle then we walk down... More

We caught the cable car to the top. There is a restaurant up there but it does close early after lunch. If you want to eat mid afternoon go to the cafe half way down. You can wander down the winding roads through mazes of planted gardens. There are surprises round every turn. The views are amazing. It is beautiful... More

I explored the garden based on a recommendation from a friend who has visited the city many times. I am so glad I went. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza and purchased a round trip cable car ticket (the hotel offers a discount). The walk up would have taken 50 minutes, and I didn't have much time. So I took... More

interesting place to visit if you are a herb fan. there are alot of different species of herbs you can find in this garden and some i never even knew existed. there's a good scenic spot near the top (you can take a cable car up) which gives you a good enough reason for heading to the summit already. we...
