This harbour is a prime location to soak up the heart of Kobe's night life, food and shopping districts. Lit up like a Christmas tree at night, the harbour is embedded in various amusement parks and entertainment whilst still actively a functioning harbour taking in cruises day and night. The central feature of this location is the Kobe port tower... More

Nice stroll along the port with pretty view at night. In day time, you probably can kill time at all the shopping malls around that offer abundant choices of latest fashionable items and goods. There are also many nice restaurants around that offer balcony seats looking out to the port. And for family with kids, there is an anpan man... More

From the harbor, one can see the television tower and a ferry wheel. There's a anpan superman museum and lots of clothing shops offering relatively cheap pricing clothes. There's a book store and a sega gamezone. Geneally a really good place for shopping.

Visiting Kobe to see my daughter who is going to school there - I got the college kid tour of Kobe : ) Go to a 7Eleven, buy a bento boxed meal - they will heat it up for you. Then go down to Harborland and sit on the steps at the seawall there. Great people watching, eating a nice... More

The Harborland consists of big malls, a ferris wheel and nice promenades. There are underground pathways leading to the area from JR Kobe Station. Some shops in the malls offer a real bargain, so I do suggest spending some time shopping in the malls in the baking afternoons. When evening comes, walk out to the promenades and enjoy the Kobe... Took a day trip from OSAKA to Kobe and loved the place. A mini San Fran harbour minus the Golden Gate Bridge of course. The earthquake couple of decades ago has Kobe virtually rebuilt anew, and a great relaxing Holiday style city it is. Full of young families and what seemed to be holiday makers from all over Japan. Take... More

This is the place where kids and adults can enjoy at the same time. Lots of shops for adults and kids. Plus there is as section of the harbourside where there is plenty to do for he kids. Anpanman museum is a good start if you have kids under 8 years old. Older kids might be bored. Next to museum... More

A day trip from Osaka with a Hanshin Tourist Pass for 500 Yen. Walk along the seawall for an amazing view of Harborland. Lots of souvenir shops and restaurants along the pier. During the weekend near the towers parking lot. There's a garage sale held by locals.

We visited there on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite crowded. There are a big shopping mall for the adult and another section with all kinds of kids shop, especially Kittyland (more variety than the one in Osaka). In addition, my kid never want to leave the Anpanman museum. If you don't like shopping, you can try the Duck... More

Despite the earthquake, Kobe has more skyscrapers than i saw in other cities. The view here is amazing. To get a nice view of the Kobe tower and the port go to a place called Mosaic Garden or something. U can easily walk from the Kobe jr station across the road through the underground. For city view go to the... More
