Charming shrine, easy to get to

Lovely, charming shrine area, and easy to get to. Right next to a shopping area. Just exit Tokyu Hands and walk up the hill and you are there. Incredibly peaceful.

This shrine was smaller than most of the major shrines we went to in other cities. We went because it was conveniently located in the middle of the city and there was not much else for us to do. It was an ok place to walk around but nothing really memorable about it and not worth a special trip to... More

The Shrine is in the middle of a hustling and bustling neighborhood. I imagine that it could be a beautiful and serene place, but when we visited I believe they where preparing for a New Years festival. There were construction workers everywhere building tables and tents. The temple itself was covered with plastic inside and such so it spoiled the... More

In this picture.. When you approach the shrine you will see thousands of sandals hanging. They are the real sandals worn by the flock of people that has come there to pay homage in the past.

Dating back to the 3rd century, this is a treasure worth seeing. Be sure to walk through the "forest". It is beautiful and some of the trees are extremely old.

This shrine is near my hotel. On weekends numerous families visit dressed in traditional costume. They have a number of small shrines around the back which are worth taking a look at

Very easy to access from Sannomiya with a five minute walk from either JR Station, Hanshin Station or Hankyu Station. Beautiful and traditional shrine with many traditional Japanese weddings on weekends. Lately in the evening there is a crowd of younger generation at the entrance of the Shrine as it appears this Shrine is a major Pokemon Station and as... More

Very cute path through small woods with a babbling brook if you walk around to the back of the shrine. From main altar walk to the left side. Stop at this shrine on your way to the hiking trial to the waterfall.
