A visit to an onsen or offuro (bath without the natural hot springs) is a quintessential experience in Japan. Despite my very limited stay in Japan, I made time to visit, and I was not disappointed. The customs can be slightly intimidating the first time around, especially if you don't speak Japanese. Fortunately my friend was familiar with the bath and spoke Japanese, so this worked out very well. The baths and the pre-and post-bath areas were clean, there were hot baths and cold baths, there were also outdoor facilities. The men and women areas are completely separate. We had walked a lot that day, and about 40 minutes at the spa, turned me into a completely new and refreshed person. Loved it.

As a local person, I often go to Otomeduka. This is one of the best "sento (銭湯)" or bath houses in Kobe. As this sento draws bath water from a natural hot spring, the water is not too hot (41 ℃) and has highly healing and relaxing effect. The price is the same as ordinary sentos with artificial hot spring water. You can enjoy several types of bathes and jacuzzis inside the bathrooms. There is an open-air bathes as well. Sauna and massage services are available with extra pay. There is a small eating place in the building where light meals and drinks are available. Clean place with nice staff. They have two free spacious parking lots, one adjacent to the bath house and another at 150m North-East.
