First time experience at an onsen was great! Would hoped to have experienced it longer but time did not permit. Took train there and a free shuttle bus from the train station which comes every 3-5mins

After walking some hours on Mount Kurama, it was really a good treat to soak in the warm water. Since I was there in autumn the leaves were really beautiful. It was great to watch the leaves while enjoying the hot water.

I am reviewing only the spa, there is a ryokan nearby (japanese style hotel) but we did not go there. The pool features a very small rotenburo (open air spa), lost in the woods near Kyoto. Don't expect great service or a red carpet center,...More

We did the walk from Kibune to Kurama (lovely) and I ended with my first trip to an Onsen. It's 1000 yen for the outside Onsen and you get a ticket from a machine not the man sat in the booth right next to it!...More

Pros: Location, view, not crowded Cons: 1 outdoor pool (for max 10-14 guests) and 1 indoor pool about the same size. No massage. Relaxation room with a TV, kids running around. Low quality all around. I have been to other Onsens that are 10 times...More

What a delight. The hot baths were relaxing. Interesting Onsen in beautiful location. The restaurant was really good, too. Sitting on cushions. Met some great people. Could have stayed a week!!

Hiking from Kibune to Kurama or vice versa , you need to go through Kurama-dera Temple . There is an entrance fee of about maybe JPY200/= or JPY300/= I highly recommend the hike !

This onsen is separate baths. Meant to be strict on tattoos. I have a small tattoo and saw people with tattoos in there.
