Choraku-ji

Maybe a little bit overpriced (650 Yen for adults), but still worth it. The View is simply amazing. It is definitely a recommended place for photography enthusiasts.

This is such a small peaceful place to come after the hussel n bussel of yasaka shrine. Quite walk ways leading to a small unusual waterfall. Visit the tea room with small garden. Place is not to be missed

Nice and calm! Can see real monks. Very relaxing. Nice small garden with pond. Entry fee is 500 yen. Worth spend!

I particularly appreciated the possibility of praying with Monk Sonsen in the morning. Sunrise, birds singing, ideal place and time for meditation. Monk Sonsen is really a nice person, he speaks a few words in english but we managed to communicate somehow. There is a museum of monks' statues and paintings worth visiting in the little house within the precints.
