Great little find in the heritage area of Gion. Lovely little oasis of gorgeously packed chocolates, small cakes and wonderful ice cream. A little pity you can't buy your own chocolate birthday, they only provide the last week of chocolates for purchase. It was raining...More

Wonderful chocolates, ice creams in summer, eclairs, and their super popular cha no ka (green tea and white choc langue du chat) a must whilst in Kyoto.

Boxes of langue de chat (green tea butter cookies) make for unique and pleasurable souvenirs from one's Kyoto sojourn. I buy this every time I am in Kyoto. TIP: Malebranche has a small stall in the JR Kyoto Shinkansen Station.
