Sakura Torinuke

Visit it during the only week it is open in the year. Every year the week is slightly different depends on the sakura bloosom.

Way too hot for this activity. It's a bit out of the way and once you get there it's a little disappointing. Our guide explained that Cherry blossom season is the best time to visit. Never mind, maybe next time.

This is the first and only place I did hanami (blossom viewing) while I was in Japan, simply to get the experience of having done it. I'd say it's worth doing once and there are a lot of pretty trees here, but having to move through crowds of people and dodge swinging selfie sticks kind of ruined the supposed peacefulness... More

Japan Mint is not only famous for its minting, but also for its cherry trees. At the beginning of April, the flowering time of cherry, many Japanese people visit here for cherry blossom viewing. To avoid a crush, the visitors are allowed to walk through the premises just in one direction, and this event is called "Torinuke", which means "walk... More

I have never been in the mint but have found the out side to be the best place to see a wide range of Cherry Blossom varieties in full bloom, at the right time of year. You can walk one way though the grounds and cannot walk back against the crowd. Ensure you go to the TOILET before you entre.... More

It was a suitable place for sightseeing and relaxing. The weather was good and we enjoyed it. It is recommended to go there in the beginning of spring for a better scene of cherry blossoms, although we went on the 9th April this year and still missed some of the cherry blossoms.

This place opens up a short pathway for a week in April for viewing of cherry blossoms (not the standard type). The website gives up to date information about the opening dates and times. I visited at night time, about 40 minutes before closing, and it was busy, but not too crowded. I'm not sure what day time is like.... More

We went to Japan mid April, so it was a little late for Cherry Blossom but we lucked out, we were able to go Japan Mint on the last day of the viewing. It was so beautiful, so many different kind and different color of Cherry Blossom. Because it was the last day so it was very crowded. But it... More

Open from Apr 8 - 14, 2016 ! Wonderful cherry blossom viewing with lot of varieties which you hardly see elsewhere ! Just too crowded and open for two week ! Need to check their website for opening date as well as route (entry and exit on single direction, to easy flow of crowd) !

One of life's hidden gems. The gardens by the river are a delight, even more so when cherry blossom is out. Well signed in English various points if interest. Superb museum, well layed out over two floors. Sadly all signs in Japanese but well worth a visit.
