Another off the bucket list Amazing to see how it was constructed and the history throughout the time it was built . Beautiful surroundings . Another picture postcard opportunity .

Visited early February, tail-end of winter. It was still very chilly and we walked from the Nakanoshima Rose Garden which had no roses because of the season. And it was well worth it, though a bit tiring. The architecture was picturesque and there are many...More

Spend some time walking the grounds...and find your zen. It is so peaceful and scenic. The peace is sometimes interrupted by the constant drone of overheah helicopters with tourists. All in all worth the visit. (The outside area is free. We did not pay to...More

Great experience for an afternoon, from the walkup to the actual castle itself. It's a shame the inside of the castle is very modern, but it's still a neat experience to walk around inside and up to the observation deck.

Lots of walking, and sightseeing... from exterior of the castle to the interior. The animated stories kiosks were impressive and educational.

We walked there from our hotel. When we arrived we were informed it is not open on Mondays. There was nothing on the website or nor were we informed by anyone when we inquired.

I found the inside of the castle to be too crowded and a little boring, but the view of the castle and the park surrounding it are beautiful.

Beautiful building and grounds, with very interesting history lessons inside! A great stop on your tour of Osaka. Lots of schoolchildren during the week.

If you are not fit, I’d give this a miss. It’s a long way to walk from any transport subway, rail or taxi; and when you get to the castle itself there are many steps. Whilst they can cater for disability, it doesn’t really lend...More

The walk to castle was okay and so was its interiors. The steps are really tall and unsuitable for old people. The saving grace is view from up top.

Yes you can access the castle grounds free of charge. That's what I did! But you need to pay for admission into the castle, which might be worth it for the panoramic views.

I have visited the Castle several times and always closes at 5pm so, if you arrive at 4pm you would have enough time. It opens at 9am.
