I'm surprised to see the recent negative reviews. The free park went through a major upgrading about a year or so ago, and while not what you might expect of a park back home for down town Osaka it is quite pleasant. A few places to get a coffee or a bite to eat. Some lovely green grass. The zoo... More

While I wouldn't recommend this park at night (it's in a shady area) it is a nice place to take a stroll and chat with a friend. There aren't a lot of usable green spaces though, so perhaps not as suitable for a picnic since that area is all sand and no shade. Still, I enjoyed my walk and chat... More

I did this on my last day in Japan and am glad I did. It is lovely and peaceful – as long as the speakers on the playing fields are off. They play some weird, motivational music in random intervals. The entrance is via the same gate as the Museum of fine art. I didn’t realise that till I had... More

We had a little time before we needed to check out of our hotel and leave Osaka so we strolled through Tennoji Park. It was pleasant, not outstanding, although we also did not see the very negative features mentioned by others. We did not go to the zoo or museum. There is an interesting feature, the Chausuyama Kofun (Burial Mound)... More

Perfect choice to spend your time in the afternoon..The park is very convenient for you to bring your children playing and walking in the park.

I've been here before for an event (Oktoberfest), which was awesome, but the park is really only interesting if you're into early 20th century-style parks. Ok from a historical perspective, but I'm not a fan. The zoo is so old-fashioned (animals in too-small enclosures, for example) that I couldn't enjoy it at all.

Very spacious park next to Tenoji station. A large pond, not too clean; a zoo, run down; a museum, below par... Only visit if you are bored of nicer things...

I visited this park during the day. I found it really pleasant. It was big and spacious. I went on a Sunday, so quite a few people were walking around in the park. I also found it adorable that there were people playing shogi in the park with a beer in their hand. The lake was very calming and nice.... More

This park is huge and lots of people get confused. The entrance doesn't look very nice, just an average park with some animal Statues(some might like it)!! you then have the zoo which is located further down the main entrance to the left, and the most interesting part (The Traditional Japanese garden) which is called Keitakuen Garden is located behind... This is a very average and run-down park, some 5 minutes walk from Tennoji station. The park is rather neglected and dirty, with numerous homeless strolling around (definitely do NOT visit the park after dark). There's a zoo next to the park, a rather ugly Hitachi tower and an art museum. Skip it.
