Though i did not actually get an opportunity to visit the mosque but I happen to cross it and I waited for like 2-3 minutes just to admire the architecture. It is just magnificent. Looks totally good.

This mosque is 1 of the iconic landmarks of Kampung Baru (Kampong Bharu), 1 of the last surviving traditional villages in the middle KL city. Is is located just a short walks from the famous Suraya Seafood Restaurant. This mosque incorporates Mughal & Malay elements in its architecture. During the holy month of Ramadhan, this mosque is so famous for the distribution of a special porridge called "Bubur Lambuk" to the public. Anyway, please dont get confused Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru with another Masjid Jamek that located close to the LRT station of the same name. They are completely 2 DIFFERENT mosques.

Masjid Jamek: It is the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur, also known as the Friday Mosque of Kuala Lumpur. It was opened in 1909.It’s design was an inspiration of the Mughal architecture, more related to Jama Masjid of Delhi. Cupolas & minarets top the brick walls & arched colonnades of this extraordinary mosque. The prayer hall is surmounted by 3 domes. This prayer hall is large & opens out into a walled & covered courtyard.Nearest train station to this mosque is Masjid Jamek LRT Station. It’s worth visiting this excellent architecture of AB Hubback.

The only street around the city without high rise. It's a place to see if you want to know how Kuala Lumpur is like the kampong way.

Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru is located in the heart of Kampung Baru on Jalan Raja Alang. In 1880's a trader named Bachik Abdullah donated this piece of land for the mosque. Construction was completed in 1920 with the original mosque made of wood. The present structure has Malay- Moghul architectural elements.

Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru is located right in the middle of Kampung Baru making it very convenient and easily accessible for worshipers to go there for pray or tourists to visit it. It features a Mughal+Malay elements in its design. During the holy month of Ramadhan, there will be a free distribution of "Bubur Lambuk", a special delicacy during fasting month to the public.
