Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens is sadly closed for refurbishment. There’s a notice at one of the entrances to the park and at the garden itself. Sadly, there’s no information about when it’ll be open, so best check before you go. Same really, I’d love to visit this garden.

I love orchids but having sweated my way from KL Sentral station (not easy to your way on foot!) I was hugely disappointed. Okay, perhaps it is not the flowering season but there were bags of soybean meal pilled everywhere, toilets out of order, no signage and a load of orchids in pots which you could probably get more enjoyment from via a display in a garden centre! Probably less than 10 plants in bloom, okay there were pretty but it is meant to be an orchid garden. 10 plants blooming does not an orchid garden make in my book. A long and sweaty hike for nothing.....

The Orchid garden is a part of the botanical gardens and contains the collection of different types of orchids from around the world. It is a good garden to visit once but in my opinion you would not miss much if you do not go there.

A wondeful collection of lots of a different varieties of orchids. Definitely worth visiting. I am not in to flowers or orchids but this collection is marvelous. Beautiful!

There are two ways of entering the Orchid Garden, which is part of the Botanical Gardens. One way is to walk through the Hibiscus Garden and arrive at the Orchid Garden. The other is to go through the main gate, which is opposite the main entrance to the Bird Park. No entry fee is charged to visit either the Orchid Garden or the Hibiscus Garden, so you can walk in from whichever point you wish.

We entered from near the Bird Park, and were initially very disappointed, because while we could see lots of orchid plants around, there was not a single flower to be seen. There is a domed gateway here, and two covered pathways stretching out like arms on either side, but with no flowers. However, we persevered, and ascended the small hillock beyond this. Here, there were more orchids to be seen. Around a fountain, a small pond, along a trellis and in beds set out along the top of the hillock were several species of orchids.

None, sadly, were labelled, and to be honest, there weren’t enough to really label this an orchid garden—the orchid garden at Singapore’s Changi Airport has more orchids, including more species, than this one! Don’t go with great expectations. Of course, it may have been that there simply weren’t too many orchids in bloom when we visited in January, though I doubt it—it was humid enough for orchids.
