Think jewellery when you think Pewter. Dont go looking for any cheap factory deal ! Great learning on the history and present of Pewter. Some of the items made are simply awesome. It was short and fascinating trip. But why does a company make a tankard to celebrate 100yrs something delicate and classy would have been more just.

Well worth a visit, particularly if you have any Royal Selangor items as I do. They are popular in the UK and I've received them as gifts. Along with the interesting history and great exhibits, you get to see how they are made in the factory. You can even have a go at making your own piece. Extensive shop and... More

3rd but last time. Been here twice before and had lots of fun at the workshops with a staff called Hafiz. He was on leave today and there were 2 other guys who were awful. They were inhospitable, unfriendly and looked like it was a drag having visitors. The first thing they said to us was "Make payment , then... More

Have bought Pewter over the years and found this visit informative and interesting. It is free and takes about 30 minutes. Worth doing. Like all tours you finish in the gift shop. Some amazing works there.

Kuala Lumpur is closely associated with the history of tin mining. Royal Selangor is an emblem of Kuala Lumpur as the main content of a pewter consists of 97% tin. It's insightful and educational and you will learn heaps of things from this pewter factory. You can also get really high quality pewter gifts to bring back home as souvenirs... More

A very useful tour of the Royal Selangor and the pewter factory. We were shown the manufacturing process of hand-made pewter products. The city of KL came into existence because of tin mining in mid 19th century and pewter's main component is tin.

We passed by this Pewter Factory as part of a city guided tour. They seem to bring everyone here. They give you a tour around. They talk about the history of the company (didn’t care for that) and then show you the production and crafting a little bit. That was the only interesting part. Then they leave you at the... More
