At the older end of the street eating and drinking are the main entertainment, shopping is concentrated at Pavilion and few smaller malls around it. Accomodation ranges from really basic budget to three star hotels already showing their age, classier ones are closer to Raja...More

Location is good thats it. Lots of hustlers and dirty perverted men. I was stupid enough to stay here for 5 days, wish I never left Singapore for this. Thank god I'm going home tomorrow.

Lots and lots of street food restaurants.Durian stalls,massage,spa parlours.Very crowded,nothing really exciting for vegetarians or vegans.If in the area or you like street food then worth the visit.

The best place is Ma Ma restaurants that open 24 hours but each chai or Teh tarik taste totally depend on a chai makers.

If you just need a bed and shower then go for it. You can find couple of hotel in downtown area with much bigger room and close to shopping mall and mama restaurant right next to your hotel.

It takes about 1 hr drive in a private cab or one and a half hr by public transportation. (about 60 Km)
