This was part of the day tour to Male. It is interesting to have a look and see the local fruit and vegetables in use but not a particularly impressive place. Very small.

The Male Local Market is mainly a fruit market. It's quite small, but packed with locals and tourists. People is very friendly. If you have an hour to kill and you're in the area, don't hesitate and go.

The biggest choice of fresh fruits, what I've seen in Maldives. Good choice of spices as well. Was a bit nicer than fish market. It is worth to visit.

All local produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, watch the local ladies shopping, plenty bananas hanging from the stalls!

The place is nice, you can taste a lot of fresh fruits and also vegetables. The bananas have the best taste ever tried.

A small place filled with colorful tropical fruits. You can find the supply for the whole island here. It's clean and tidily segmented. The vendors did not hassle you to buy the goods, which I found comforting.

Starts from 5 dollar, for small snack or fruit. More expensive than the supermarket in Europe. Didn't found interesting/Various sort of fruit...if you have been to Thailand for the market... this is may disappointing you.

Just a local market and not a very nice or special one at that. They will take you if you spend the day in Male, but really, this is a local market that you may as well skip...

If you want local fruits tuna and traditional touch go there. It's cheap and a lot of shops. Do bargain for the price. Do a survey before buying. A lot of local food is available there.

Went here to buy some vegetables and was surprised how miserable, and devoid of smiles and any other response the staff holders were. Good selection and interesting to see variety of fruit vegetables include smoked fish.

It's pretty much in the middle of the northern shore. If you're at Republic Square (the main square with the big flag) and facing the sea, turn left along the coast and it's a minute or two away.
