    Highly Recommended !!
It is located adjacent to to San Augustin Church in the historic walled city of Intramuros. It was originally built in 1587 as a monastery. Since then it has gone through a lot of natural calamities and damage during World War 11. It was convertd in to a museum in 1973. It depicts the history of Christianity since 15th century. There are a lot of relics, paitings, antiques and artefacts in a huge two storey museum which are worth seeing. Its timings are from 8 to12 and 1 to 6. Thanks a lot to our young studen cum part time guide Dean who explained to us in detail about this beautiful museum. He was not our official guide but seeing us in a big group, he helped us. GOD bless him. Worth seeing...

History of Catholicism in the Philippines.
The museum is a treasure trove of religious artefacts that showcase Catholicism since the arrival of the Spaniards in the Philippines. Irrespective of religious beliefs, the treasures on display are worthy of inclusion in any civic museum of note. I wondered at the value of the paintings that adorn the walls and galleries, likewise the vestments, liturgical vessels, religious artefacts, the antique furniture, etc. As with the church, a shore excursion tour only allows time for a brief look at treasures and a building structure that could be admired for some hours.

Magnificent old church and beautifully curated museum
We aimed to get to the museum right on opening, which we thought was 8am. We were working with a map downloaded from the Government Intramuros Tourism website. When the museum opened at 9am there was a sign on the ticket office saying that the opening time was changed from 8am to 9am in March 2023 – over a year ago. The government website needs to update its maps. The Museo San Agustin is far bigger and grand than one first expects. The church itself is the oldest stone church in The Philippines (completed in 1607). There is so much to see and learn about the history of this church, the order and the role they played in the life, community and history of Manila. Some extraordinary relics and artworks on display throughout all floors of the cloister. The highlight was the choir/organ loft and the magnificent view of the church. You could easily spend a few hours here. BONTAKS TRAVELS

This is the San Agustin Museum, which is attached to the San Agustin Church. When I visited this time, it was called the San Agustin Museum, and it seems that they did some repairs during the COVID-19 period. The museum introduces the history of the area since the missionaries came to the area. There is also an exhibition of paintings from churches in the Philippines. It will probably take about half a day to look around slowly. This time, there was a Spanish-related event taking place in the museum. The entrance fee is not expensive at 200 PHP, so if you come to San Agustin Church, be sure to enter the museum as well.

Other museums may boast of collections of every sort, but San Agustin Museum has the best in terms of religious items ... from religious articles (statues of Saints, liturgical vestments, books, linens, vessels and other paraphernalia) to objects related to the history of the early Augustinian missions in the Philippines and abroad. Everything is well documented and displayed in a very orderly way.

The museum is adjacent to the San Pablo Church (aka San Agustin Church) and is divided into two floors built around a cloister. There are different exhibit rooms. Not to miss are the room dedicated to the works of Father Blanco (an Augustinian botanist), the antique jars' room, the old sacristy, the community Chapter Room, the gallery of statues of Saints, the choir loft, etc. The grand staircase leading to the second floor is lovely, while all the corridors around the cloister are instagrammable and evoke a sense of nostalgia. Entrance fee is Php 200 for adults.

We had not realised the breadth of the collection of artefacts and historically significant pieces contained in the museum until we took a guided tour. Our guides were two lovely young ladies who are studying Tourism. Their knowledge and courtesy made the tour very enjoyable. We spent approx 40 mins with them, touring the site and learning the history of the Philippines, specifically related to The Church of San Agustin. We had the good fortune to witness a wedding. I would highly recommend this tour.

In my opinion it is the highlight of the city. This is the old Augustinian convent, which houses hundreds of works of art, mostly religious, but also historical, and which tell the story of the evangelization of the Philippines. In the crypt is the pantheon of the Spaniards murdered by the Japanese in February 1945, during the massacres they committed against the Filipino and European population who lived in the city.

The Botany museum is particularly outstanding. Few Filipinos realize how important Fr. Manuel Blanco's 'Flora de Filipinas" was in the understanding of the medicinal value of plants.

Even the columbarium is an interesting study in Manila history, with a veritable who's who buried there.

A beautiful, magical and fabulous place! It's the only thing nice to see in Manila. Walked with admiration through the galleries of this stunning place with a great history!!! How the medieval fairy tale got caught up. I'd like to visit more, but I don't think I'm going back to Manila.

The San Agustin Museum is attached to the magnificent and historical San Agustin church. You should visit both the church and the museum on the same visit. The museum is spread over the entire massive grounds over two floors. Many of the pieces tell the story of the evolution Christianity in the Philippines. You could easily spend at least a couple of hours in just the museum itself. I spent a few hours on the entire property including the church. There are two beautiful gardens on the property. Be sure and look for the turtles in the inner garden fountain. Don’t get too close to the fountain because they’ll swim underwater. They appear to be shy and very aware of people.
