I agree it should get awards! Such a range of exhibits and what a vast history to cover. We come from Canada - so a very short well documented history in comparison. This was the first location I saw real cuneiform writing, tablets and "envelopes". Just one of the many bits I had some scattered knowledge of that the museum... More

Starting from thousands years time, many ancient pieces of Anatolia. If you have 2-3 hours time to spend in Ankara, that's one possible option.

Great museum, with lots of interesting information. Nicely set out, lots of artefacts. I'm not really a museum person, but found this one very interesting. It did get quite busy with tour groups while i was there, but it was still enjoyable. There was a cafe inside, but it was closed. The museum is located up a very steep hill,... More

Excellent museum will very helpful staff and well curated displays. The shop and restaurant were closed probably because I visited on New Year's Day. Its worth walking to the museum as you will pass some very interesting traditional markets, it is a bit of a hike.

Wonderful and in a nice setting. To be seen slowly and with care, almost each piece is unique, and now includes reproductions from Gobleki Tepe... Simply superb

Very rare items are exhibited here. In a nutshell you can see the masterpieces of Asia Minor. If you are not there with a guide make sure you take an audio guide though it is well exhibited and informative, the audio guide is always one step ahead. Some pieces brought tears in my eyes.

Hittite collection especially interesting. Wonderful gardens. Nearby cobbled streets for coffee and local browsing.
