How humble it makes one feel to be in the privileged position to marvel at one of the ancient wonders of the world. A true and honored experience to be in the privileged position to have visited. A must see for all.

This is one of the few of the Seven Wonders that still have any remnants. Little remains of the magnificent monument Mausolus had constructed, so it takes a bit to imagine how big the structure actually was. All one really sees now are the foundations...More

Not everyday you can say you stood on the site of one of the ancient wonders of the world for under £2. It a peaceful place, which is definitely undervalued, which I'm glad in a way, as it makes it less of a tourist site....More

This is truly a magnificent place to go. The mausoleum of Halicarnassus was built for the ruler Mausolus and so this monument is what gave the world the term mausoleum for an impressive tomb. It is in a lovely peaceful setting and there are information...More

It is one of the historic sites that should not be missed. Although there is not much left due to earthquakes over the centuries it is where the word mausoleum originated. Walk through it and imagine centuries ago what it was like!

The mausoleum site is obviously a ruin and requires a bit of imagination to visualise, but we enjoyed walking around and learning a bit about one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. We were the only people there during our visit, which made...More

This Mausoleum is worth the visit for historical reasons, but most of the interesting archeological finds are in the British museum in London.

A must see on any visit to Turkey. A truly marvellous experience viewing the various contributors to this ancient city. A fascinating insight into Turkeys past.

Like all the places inspirated by love it's a very special place with the very special atmosphere. Even though there's not much left from the original Mausoleum buil about 2000 years ago the spirit is still there - and hopefully forever.
