I have traveled to Turkey for over 20 years. My first treat is always a Turkish bath to remove that old layer of skin, work and the journey. This is my ritual to really get my holiday started.
I would normally walk into a hamam...More
After reading reviews I said I would not go to the sultan for Turkish bath our rep advised us to give it a chance and I’m glad we did we had explained our concerns which he had passed on to owner and tbh I couldn’t...More
I don’t even want to give a rating, on entering this establishment we felt uneasy with men sitting around outside smoking and eating on the steps watching you as you came down. You are then ushered in to separate rooms for the big sell, unfortunately...More
This is a real mess. Everything there is old and stinky. The staff is very rude if you don’t pay extra. I really don’t understand who left the ‘good experience review’....
They use the same glov for the scrub as they use to the other...More
The place is very ugly and dirty
Turkish hammam experience is just 10 minutes

HORRIBLE PLACE !
We as friends and family came here a week after being in Turkey.
1st they try to sell you a bigger massage. Then you go in the sauna. You then go in to the Turkish bath like cattle. They used the same body scrub mitten...More

Tell your hubby not to fear- nudity is not a requirement. In fact I don't think it's allowed. Haha I'm a big lass and I always wear my bikini and no-one bats an eye. If you prefer a one piece then go for that... More
Tell your hubby not to fear- nudity is not a requirement. In fact I don't think it's allowed. Haha I'm a big lass and I always wear my bikini and no-one bats an eye. If you prefer a one piece then go for that, but really, whatever you feel comfortable in!
I had the full thing which is sauna, steam room and plunge pool, then into the marble room for a sit in the warm and that's where they scrub you. You are led to a lush warm marble table and they use a mitt thing to scrub you. I usually have a spray tan before my hols and it gets it all off (very impressed!) then you are rinsed off with warm water from a big bowl and then led to the soapy bit. Again, they lay you on the warm marble and cover you in soapy suds. You get a sort of wash/massage here and then rinsed off once they're done. Then you are led out of the marble room, given a cover up, and you go out onto the roof garden/bar area. (Stunning) you can get a drink here, whatever you like I think, I just wanted a bottle of water. Then they come collect you for your oil massage which is amazing! They ask you then if you'd like the clay face mask- which I always opt for as it makes my skin so soft. They paint it on though, which is quite a surprise! If you've gone for the added extras of mani/pedi then you get that after your massage. Im not sure how much these are, but I'd assume they're reasonable.
You'll feel like a buffed pampered newborn by the time you leave. It's the first thing I do whenever I go to turkey and I've got to say I've been to a few in Gumbet and this one is by far the best.
If you're staying in the Shark hotel he will be there anyway, but if you're passing there or the sultan then ask to speak to Ozzy. He's a lovely lad and he will make sure you're well looked after. I'm sure it cost us £30 each but my friend swears it was £25. Either way, to have the same thing done in the uk would cost well in excess of £150.
