Nice Walking Trail
Jul 2021
Enjoyed a long walk from the large dirt lot near the volleyball courts all the way to the Barton pool. We didn't go on the water on this trip but hope to in the future.

Nice Scenic Park Amidst a Busy City
May 2021
On a recent trip to the Austin Texas area, we went to Zilker Park, along Lady Bird Lake. We walked from a large gravel parking lot along the river as far as the bridge over Lamar Street. This was a nice scenic walk along the river. It was shady with a slight breeze when we were there, making a cooler walk than the surrounding city area. We enjoyed the trees, flowers, ducks, turtles, kayaks and paddle boards in the river, and of course bicycles, joggers and pedestrians along the trail. The trail was well maintained and clean, and not difficult to manage at all.

Good for groups
Jun 2021
This is a nice park if you have a few friends and need an open space. Not much to do by yourself. If you want to rent a boat you can. But it just does not have much to offer the tourist.

Frisbee golf, Central Park lawn, pool and more
Jan 2021 • Couples
Impressed with the sheer size of this park. Have been during holidays to see the lights , have been to Barton springs pool.. but the hiking and biking trails , sit out and picnic lawns, kayak and paddle board rentals, accessibility from and view of downtown...really impressed .
Did a few mile round trip walk the next day as well enjoying the trail along river is peaceful and let you appreciate nature .

Rent some canoes and paddle!
Dec 2020
Get some canoes in Barton Creek (pretty cheap by the way) and paddle around the Zilker Park and the Colorado River, perfect activity for any sort of plan.

Trail of Lights ... Drive Through
Dec 2020 • Couples
Nicely organized drive through Trail of Lights. Covid Friendly. Takes about an hour in total ... 30 minutes in line and about 30 minutes, maybe less, to drive through.

Wonderful Park
Oct 2020
IF you are a "people watcher" this is a fabulous park. So relaxing and interesting. I didn't partake in any water sports but simply sat and enjoyed the view. Lots and lots of people swimming and small boating in this inner city river/ park. It's well kept which is very surprising considering how populated the park is. Austin does a good time at maintaining it's parks. I am from Los Angeles and you should see the parks- horrific. Hooray for Austin, job well done!

Best place ever
Jun 2020 • Couples
I loved this place. The people are so friendly. You can swim, fish or canoe and kayak. I enjoyed the Sun and I stood on the bridge. I also got in the water and it gave me life. It also has a nice walking trail leading up into the lake. A must-see in Austin Texas.

Nice place to relax and exercise both
May 2020
Beautiful park down by the river near downtown Austin. Lots of green space to relax, and nice running and walking trails by the river. There is also launch space for kayaks, paddle boards.

Right Next To The City?!
May 2019
Cannot believe how much natural (and tranquil) beauty there is right next to the city!

Zilker Park is absolutely beautiful and a fantastic place to relax by yourself or with a friend or family.

The quiet refreshing sound of nearby water, friendly faces as you walk along the endless hiking trails and numerous photogenic locations make this a must-see when visiting (or taking a break) from Austin.

Highly recommend.
