Austin Murder Walk

In the year 1885 America’s first serial killer stalked the streets and alleyways of the young, emerging city of Austin. More terrifying than any ghost story, this monster brutally and systematically hacked eight women to death using an ax. For one calendar year, he terrified a city and came to be known as the “midnight assassin”. He was never captured and his identity remains a mystery or does it...?

This tour is our longest at 1 hour 45 minutes and covers 2 miles of historic Austin including West 6th street, Guy Town, the Warehouse District and a drink stop at the iconic Driskill Hotel. The pace is leisurely and, in addition to a drink stop at the Driskill, (drinks not included), there are short rests along the journey.

Join us on this exceptional true crime walking tour investigating exact crime locations and the various theories surrounding the midnight assassin. It’s a “killer” tour.

This was our haunted tour, and Mabel set the bar for all future tours that we go on! She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the city’s history, and it showed through her fun personality and her ability to interact with our entire group! Would definitely recommend to our friends!

Hank did a great job introducing us to the ghosts of Austin and the stories behind them. I really liked how he also recounted experiences from employees of the different venues and even past tour guests that backed up the stories being told. I look forward to doing the Murder Walk next time I come back!

My wife and I have gone on an Austin ghost tour with another company a few years back and it was a good experience. Even though Covid has knocked down all entertainment a few notches, we still had a great time. The star of the evening was undoubtably our tour guide, Mabel. She was knowledgeable, entertaining and kept the everyone's attention throughout the tour. If you book with the tour, be sure to request Mabel as your guide.

My sister (who is 14 and tough to impress) and I went on this tour and had an absolute blast! I had no idea Austin has such a haunted history. We were able to walk all through downtown while our AWESOME tour guide Mabel told us the stories of all the hauntings that go on at the different locations. I really recommend this tour if you are in Austin and have a bit of time to spare one evening.
