This is a must-go attraction because nowhere else has a better view and altitude than this if you want to have a 360 degree view of Austin. The views of the river and hills are spectacular, especially when it's sunset. I found myself obsessed by...More

The actual hiking component was less than I expected, although you do need to be able to climb 100 steps. The views were better than expected. We spent about an hour - it's fun to drive around some of the nearby neighborhood too.

You must visit this highest point in Austin. You can see the entire city of Austin from here. You can also see the lake from this height. It is a great attraction to spend a couple of hours on the top of Mount Bonnell. It...More

The view was spectacular but the smell of urine around the monument and the structures was a great disappointment. Shame on people for doing that.

My friend and I decided to visit on a whim. Once you get to the top, it's a gorgeous panoramic view. We were lucky enough to visit when the Kona Ice truck was there. You definitely need to bring water and wear appropriate shoes. We...More

This is not so much a "hike" but it has the dirt path for a hike feel. You first walk up a bunch of steps to get to the top and then you walk the dirt path to see more views. Gorgeous and very simple....More

First, you need to be moderately healthy to get to this attraction as there are a bunch of stairs to climb or a long walk up broken ground to get to the top. Once there, the views of the river and surrounding hills are fantastic....More

Yes. They have picnic tables & trash cans there in assorted areas but be prepared for a few people passing by & possibly asking for a bite of food!

If you're like most locals and are into fitness, you can rent a bike. If riding in hills is not your thing, you can use a ride-share app like rideaustin (Uber and Lyft don't work here).

Not long at all, maybe ten or fifteen minutes. It's not really a trail, just a set of steps up to the top from the parking area. It's absolutely worth doing, though, because its the best view in Austin.
