This museum is TEXAS. It presents a complete history and story of Texas in an entertaining, factual and educational manner. One can spend more than a day here learning about Texas. It is user friendly with well written placards at each exhibit and has something for adults and children as well.

This was such an interesting museum. It was our first real vacation to Texas, so we wanted to learn as much as we could about the area. The museum takes several hours to see, but the time passed quickly because of the interesting exhibits and authentic, historical artifacts.

I had a fun time there, seeing all the artifacts and the Imax theatre. It was amazing seeing the labell Being reconstructed. I hope I can come back soon!

The Bullock Texas State History Museum is located in an immense building that was opened in 2001. It is well laid out with galleries on three different levels. The upper two levels contain a chronological history of the state (go through each in clockwise order) and are presented in a clear and concise way with plenty of artifacts and informative... More

Not far from downtown, this museum offered a fantastic insight into the history of Texas, the various wars, changes of hand etc right up to the modern day, country music etc. There are also other exhibits such as the shipwreck on the ground floor. Nice mix of video and documentary exhibits. Was quite busy with schoolchildren the day I was... More

one of my favorite things about travelling is learning the history and Texas is much more than the Alamo. Great museum. Very enjoyable.

Our first day in Texas so decided to seek a historical background which was provided most thoroughly by the comprehensive displays in this modern museum. Car parking seemed a little expensive at $8 but the entrance fee to the museum was reasonable. The exhibition around the ship "La Belle" was fascinating. A great way to set the scene for our... I loved this museum. Great attractions, excellent exhibits. Could not ask for anything better, including the specific places in which the history of Texas is presented.

The day we arrived was Science Day so there were large numbers of school groups, but that was not a problem because there were so many docents & great teachers & parents with the students, they were terrific. We had wonderful, knowledgablec docents who obviously love what they do. This is a magnificent museum.

Enjoyed the exhibits, especially the shipwreck and the space exhibits. Wish that the cafe would have been open, the website didn't indicate that it was under a renovation.
