Want an evening on the town...it's all within walking distance from hotels, parking lot centers, and it's all very safe. Last weekend we saw a "ShinneyRibs" a blues group-rock-a-billy band at the historic Paramount Theatre /entertainment center on Congress Ave and danced in the isles....More

Congress ave is where you can walk safely and shop, eat or go on the bridge and watch the bazillion bats fly at dusk. The view of the Capitol of Texas is the best from Congress ave.

From great pizza, great beer, great murals, weird stores...fun to just stroll without a timeline. I wonder how the stores stay in business...and be sure to find street parking if you get there before 11am, as the lots are crazy expensive!
