Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I just traveled to Austin from Miami to see their production of "Silent Night" and it was excellent. I often travel for opera and I will seriously consider becoming a subscriber to Austin Opera... it did not disappoint. Lovely theater at the Long Center and the house was full. All of the seating has an excellent view and the sound was very good. Remember, Opera is for everyone!!

Very easy venue to get in and out of. We used the valet service. The performance was very beautiful and entertaining. We enjoyed the grace of all the dancers and the information between performances was very educational. I would enjoy seeing this show again.

I attended a private event here and was blown away this the location. Beautiful views of Austin, and easy to get to. They have ample indoor and outdoor space. The event I went to was outside. It was a big BBQ event and there was ample space for food trucks, much grilling, live music and many people to roam around without feeling crowded. The parking was ample, but long wait to get into the parking area. The price for parking was average for venues like this. This venue is within easy walking distance to hotels, restaurants and the like.

I was disappointed. The seats are extremely uncomfortable. 75.00 for balcony seats for a Sunday afternoon performance. Only to be cramped in tiny seats and I'm a small person. The production was okay but for the price it seems the sets would have been more lavish and colorful. Plan on traveling to Houston next year. They have 2 ballet companies and tickets are more affordable. Why is Austin always more expensive when you get less?

The Long Center is a beautiful venue. Why they even chose to bring something like Shen Yun is beyond me. Someone in their employ should have previewed this propaganda production. The music was the best part. Dancers were good, but not great - they just left you wondering when the really spectacular stuff was going to happen. There were only about two great numbers, everything else looked like a rehash of the previous number with different costumes. The sopranos were about as ear splitting as Florence Foster Jenkins. Really. And then there was the religious propaganda and the anti-evolution statements (I slapped my forehead over this). The talent of the performers was over-shadowed by the negative message. Yes, I get that Falun Dafa is persecuted in China. But I absolutely disagree with their sentiments.
A waste of money and time. Look carefully at other reviews. There are plenty who agree with me, but they are hidden by Shen Yun's apparently vast and wealthy supports who have flooded the internet with positive reviews.

The show was great .The venue needs some updates .Seats were hard, but the view was good. The place seems small compared to others. I would have loved it if place was more grand.

Recently attended the presentation by the Austin Symphony if Leonard Bernstein's Mass. This was an incredibly impressive performance of dance, song & music! Just cannot say enough about the lovely auditorium & the Austin Symphony. Just Bravo! The theatre's acoustics are awesome & seating is very comfortable. An unforgettable evening enjoying one of the most impressive presentations of Leonard Bernstein's Mass. Added bonus: his daughter, son & niece were all in attendance.

Come early to avoid heavy traffic and long lines for both valet parking as well as garage parking. 8$ per car for garage parking. There is a wet bar on each leval whole you wait for the doors to open. We had a nice view of the sky line from across the street. We heard great things from Friday nights performance.

The auditorium is often kept far too warm for the amount of people inside and the seating is not comfortable and way too close together

Does this venue have a long wait to get through security? Bag checks, metal detectors, pat downs, etc.?

I have only driven to the venue, so I'm afraid I don't know about taxis.
