We stayed there 3 nights. Great service and central to downtown.

This was our first trip to Austin. Comfortable beds, great breakfast and the staff were helpful and polite. Thank you Driskill!

Awful experience last week at the Driskill. On a positive note: staff was friendly and did tey to accomodate us. Check in was very quick at 2am. First night in the new section was fine, although room could have done with a good cleaning. The drinks in the minibar were covered in something white, like melted ice cream. Because we... More

We stayed nearby and wanted to visit this historic site for drinks. It was located on 6th street down the street from all the famous bars and restaurants. There was construction on the exterior but the inside was well appointed with wood panels, and other artifacts. We were fortunate to experience the Christmas decoration with a majestically decorated tree which... More

the restaurant I was exactly as expected.... professional and highly polished dinner service in the Grille was very romantic. With drapes drawn, it had a gemuetlichkeit like one finds in Europe's best dining places. After drinks, appetizers, long dinner and desserts, the hotel room was like a comforting urban oasis high above 6th Street in a corner room in the... More

I love the Driskill. Period. From the top to the bottom. This hotel was opened in the late 1800's by Jesse Driskill a Civil War Colonel who promptly lost it to gambling. I have been connected with the Driskill since the 1980's and every time I step through the doors I sense something magical. The hotel itself is just drop... More

A charming hotel. Walked by and had to go into the lobby. It truly is from a bygone day. You can picture well off ranchers visiting the state capital city and hanging out here. The exterior was undergoing renovation. The beauty to me was from the outside. On noisy 6th Ave with all the bars and pedestrians. Cannot attest to... More

Stayed around the block at another hotel, but went there for music and light meal. This is a historic building, and some say it's haunted.

Great Victorian interiors and a completely different experience to the 6th street hustle outside. The cafe is an additional bonus. Must visit

Beautiful, historic hotel with a happening lobby and bar. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Can't go wrong with a stop to the Driscoll.

Did not sleep at hotel as live in Austin, but have been to social events hosted by Coronet Club (a dinner and dancing club). Probably 20+ tables with 12+ folks at each table. Service was fabulous. Somehow they magically managed to server everyone at the same table at the same time. Food was delicious.
