Didn't stay here but stopped to see it. It's beautiful! It was opened in 1886, there is something about the "Grand Old Historic Hotels". On November 25 1969 it was listed on the Register of Historical Places. Hyatt bought the hotel in 2013 but it will continued to be called the Driskill. The lobby area is beautiful, large columns line... More

This lovely old hotel is right downtown and has everything to offer. Perfect location, lovely rooms and lobby, fun bar with live music and right on Austin's famous 6th St. You couldn't pick a nicer spot for your Austin experience.

Best hotel in Austin due to it's history, upscale visitors and ghost stories. Staying for the night, visiting Austin for business or leisure a stay at the Driskill is quite an experience

Stayed here for business- and hadn't been in a while. Congrats on a beautiful renovation. I was upgraded to a room on the 12th floor (thank you!) and the views are incredible, as are the 15foot ceilings. The new interiors are beautiful, subtle and very soothing. The Driskell has a fantastic staff from check-in to roaming Managers just asking if... More

We spent a weekend night at the Driskill and came away generally as impressed as we have been on previous visits. One of the elevators was out of service, which made getting bags to our floor difficult - probably just the price of staying in a charming older hotel when limited options need repairs. We went out for dinner and... More

We walked around in the public areas of the hotel. Then we had cocktails during happy hour. We enjoyed the beauty of this grand old property while we sipped our drinks and enjoyed the happy hour food.

The Driscoll is an historic property in downtown Austin. The Bar is attractive and the barkeeps and waitresses are very pleasant and welcoming. The surroundings are comfortable and the day we were there a very good jazz pianist was doing his thing. The architecture is the draw.

Will have to pass this time since the pet policy is: 1 dog under 50 lbs or two w a combined weight of under 75 (why not one 75 pounder?). $100 per day. That's really NOT pet-friendly!

Just walked around and looked. It was beautiful, and the staff was friendly. I'd love to stay there on our next trip.
