We went online to reserve a place for the Octopus Encounter at the Austin Aquarium. We ran into several problems with the online system. I was beginning to wonder what type of place this was. When I called to talk to a manager, I became very impressed. She took ownership of my problem, and went out of her way to... More

I visited here on my honeymoon and it was our favorite part of the trip. First of all, buy your tickets online. You'll save about $3 per ticket, making it like $12 instead of $15 for adults. (It's less for kids, but we don't have any so I didn't note the price.) Also buy tokens to feed the animals online,... More

My three year old enjoyed this. Don't go expecting something like the Monterey Bay Aquarium, but it was good for a Labor Day outing with my daughter. She enjoyed feeding the birds and other exhibits. She loved the playscape. Be sure to buy your tickets and food tokens in advance online as it saves a significant amount of money.

We enjoyed it very much, even though the grandkids were quite young (1 and 4). It has great interactive features which keeps the kids engaged and interested. If you get your tickets online, then you save big money! It was a great place to get out of the heat and learn a bit along the way!

Good location for north Austin that was easy to get in and out of. In a strip mall with plenty of parking. Staff was friendly. Exhibit area was small...doable in 30 minutes. Had a toddler area. The overall exhibit seems geared towards elementary school kids. Not alot of different exhibits but the kids enjoyed it. The aquariums looked kind of... More

Brittany and Amy are the best! They will make you feel right at home. I'm an annual member and saved loads of cash becoming one.

We got our tickets online and saved a bit money, if you don't expect to pay 10 bucks more for a family of 5. The Aquarium is very family friendly the kids enjoyed feeding the Koi, checking out the huge octopus, the sting rays, and feeding the birds. They had snakes, and other reptiles there too. It is smaller than... More

I can't believe no one mentioned the mermaid! We checked ahead to make sure she would be there and our girls loved her. Shelly was so sweet and gave them all glitter tattoos. My oldest loved feeding and touching the stingrays. They also got to feed the tortoise and birds. They keep saying they want to go back and I... More

Very small, but nice selection of animals. Lots of different animals to interact with. Not all of the tanks were clean and that made it hard to see the animals and take pictures.

This was my second time to take my seven year old grandson to the aquarium. He loves it. My first impression was that it needed cleaning, and I told them. This time the aquarium was both cleaner and fun. Definitely a place I will bring him to again!
