I have attend many musicals from Broadway, to London, to Los Angeles. The show we saw , Peter and the stargazer was excellent. The actors are professional and do several shows during the summer period . The show was well directed , costumes, sets were all 1st class's and the production was memorable . Do go!!!

We saw John Cowan. It was an excellent concert. Our seats were third row balcony and were able to see and hear without any problem. Staff at theatre were very friendly and helpful.

Went for matinee of Over the River and Thru the Woods, a packed theater but not uncomfortable, very entertaining. The actors all did their parts very well

Visited the theater to watch a Christmas Catol. Was expecting it to be pretty boring, but I was surprised to have really enjoyed it! The theater is small and the seats weren't the most comfortable but the show was amazing. One of the best plays I have been to in a while! I did enjoy it and would definitely return!... More

Great place for a girls getaway trip. Several of my girlfriends enjoyed watching Chicago here this fall. LOVED it! The actors did a great job performing. This is such a beautiful theater. Not a bad seat in the house. And Abingdon is such a cute town. Arrive early so you can spend time walking around sightseeing & shopping.

I decided this year, in lieu of gifts, I would treat my son and his family to a trip to the Barter to see A Christmas Carol. Everything was decorated for the holidays and we were escorted to our seats. We reserved seats in the center of the orchestra section but all seats are equally good to see the stage.... More

My wife and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary by watching the play Over the river and through the woods. The play was excellent and the actors did a really convincing job. We loved the atmosphere of the second theatre. The stage was extremely close to give you that cozy feeling. We'll definitely be back for more plays with out... More

We saw an excellent production of Chicago with a cast of about 15 plus a 5 piece music back-up. Even though, before going, I had read about the Barter Theatre and its unique history, I still couldn’t believe how a relatively small theatre in a small town in Southwest Virgina, near the TN border, could put on such an excellent...
