We went to the Birchmere as part of our anniversary celebration. It was our first visit - the concert was great and well worth the ticket prices. We arrived about 15 minutes before the doors opened and managed to find good seats. Having read the...More

Everything everyone else has said is true.... okay food and great venue. What most of them don't say is that there are no assigned seats. Therefore, you have to arrive 2 hours early to "get a number". That number is akin to being in line....More

I have two favorite concert venues in the D.C. Area, Blues Alley and this one! The Birchmere is a great place to catch any group and they book all kinds, from swing to blues to country and all in between. The food's good, the service...More

This is a late review but I am sending it anyway. My boyfriend & I attended a concert, at The Birchmere, a couple of years ago. It was our first time there. We saw the 1980s band Swing Out Sister and their performance was wonderful....More

I recently met up with friends at the Birchmere after they invited my wife and I to join them for a Bacon Brothers concert. I had known that Kevin and his brother performed and made albums, but I never heard anything by them. I figured...More

The Birchmere gets some really good acts and is a funky, comfortable place to hear music. Positives stop there, however. Food is just plain bad but is pretty hard to avoid, since if you want a decent seat, you have to arrive really early: there...More

The Birchmere is an original in its own right and a great place to hear live music. They have hosted an amazing array of musicians of many genres since the mid sixties. The acoustics are fabulous and every seat is a good one. I attended...More

Robert Earl Keen played to a full house. Excellent evening with great friends in a wonderful venue! We shared a pizza and thought it was really good! The staff is friendly and fun. Great evening!

Making your way thru Washington area traffic to get in line at 5pm to get a line number to snag a decent seat is no day at the beach. Just getting to the concert hall at 5pm on a weeknight is tough. Once you get...More

Went to the Birchmere (not the original) this past Sunday night to see America, and I was not disappointed in the band or the experience. Loved the entrance, but better get there at least 2 hours ahead of time, don't worry there is plenty to...More

Yes! The reason you need to go early is to stand in line to receive a number to enter the concert hall. Seating is first come, first serve at the Birchmere. If you look at your tickets, you will see seating is reflected as... More

They give you a stamp so you can go outside and come back in. Didn't see any vapor pens in the theater

I agree that I have not seen them record. It is worth a phone call to the Birchmere, though. Or even send an email to Darryl's Place in NY to see if it was recorded?
