I worked in the Pentagon for many years (coincidentally, in an office destroyed by the tragedy) and I was working for American Airlines at DCA on 9/11. I knew people on AA-77 so I really wanted to be moved by this Memorial. I wasn't. The best Memorials are simple, evocative, and intuitive. They don't need a handout or guidebook to... More

Easy to access by taking the Metro and follow the signs. If you also plan to visiton Pentagon, make sure to bring a valid ID (or passport if foreigner). The memorial consists of something which looks like benches, ordered in lines, based on birth year. The youngest one from 1998. An emotional place to visit for those of use who... More

We came here on a Sunday morning, after a visit to Arlington Cemetery. You can take the Blue Line and get off the Pentagon metro stop. From the metro station, it is about a 7 minute walk to the Pentagon Memorial. It is a very well thought out memorial. There are 184 benches, one for every person who died. The... More

We saw photos of the Pentagon 911 Memorial online, but they don't do it justice. Each bench is inscribed with the name on an individual who died in this horrific act of terror. The benches of those who were on the plane face away from the Pentagon toward the open sky. The benches of those who were in the Pentagon... More

As one of the memorials of a more recent event, this is a very touching and heartfelt memorial. Definitely worth taking some time to leave the city and visit.

Make sure you ask the guard for the full story. Makes you count your blessings and be thankful. Go around and read names. Some children. :-( As close to Pentagon as u can get.

We went at night and it was beautiful. There is no visitors parking and I'm pretty sure that we were being watched since we just parked close.

This memorial of the 911 attack on the Pentagon is filled with symbolism. The memories it evoked were disturbing and disquieting. It was a most thought out and respectful tribute to the people that died and it recognized the age of the youngest to the oldest. Lest we forget...

I feel it's important to visit all of the Memorials that you can to honor the victims of the 9-11 tragedy. The Memorial in PA (amazing), the one in New York, and here. Was hard to find for us by car. We were moved. We must never forget.
