So glad that I can say that I experienced this solemn place first hand.
Before completing our short visit to Arlington Cemetery just after 5 o'clock on a Sunday afternoon in early June, my son & I hurried up to see the President John F. Kennedy Grave Site. We had the place to ourselves to gaze down on the graves of the former president and his wife. Other family members are also buried close by. The eternal flame adds that poignant touch to this special place It was so silent and peaceful up there. And I'm so pleased that I had the chance to visit such an important last resting place of such an iconic leader of the United States of America during truly difficult times.

Paying respects to one of America's finest!
Nearly everyone who visits Arlington National Cemetery stops by the grave of John F. Kennedy, with its eternal flame. It is both sad and disheartening to reflect on the lack of true leaders America has endured in the past several decades. How wonderful it would be to again have a young, idealistic, visionary president that speaks of compassion and making life better for all rather than the subsequent line up of dividers and xenophobes.

Emotional feeling to see his grave site.
This was my first time visiting DC. I was visiting my son who was recovering from an injury during deployment. We took advantage of this opportunity and explored it. This was one of my musts when we visited Arlington Cemetery. What an emotional feeling. This is a must-to do.

    Solomon and somber memorial
As someone else put it, the site is simple, yet moving. It is a gravesite that is quiet and serene. Keep in mind, it's a cemetery, not a museum. However, because of who has passed, it was a little emotional..... especially seeing JFK's siblings, Jackie Kennedy, and two of their children's gravestones that are located next to his. The eternal flame added to that emotion. The marker for JFK's older brother, Joseph, whose remains from fighting in WW II were never found, was very moving as well. It's not a far walk from the Welcome Center but you can also take the tram for a cost. Also, if visiting during summer, take plenty of water.

It gets 5 stars just because it is historic and while being at Arlington National Cemetery you can’t help but feel emotional when viewing it.

Nothing spectacular but worth every step you take to get to see it.

One specific place we went in Arlington Cemetery was the Kennedy graves. We were gradeschool children when Pres. Kennedy was assassinated, and that tragic event was a dramatic landmark in our growing up. Pres. Kennedy and his wife and two children are buried there, in a simple but elegant plot, with the iconic eternal flame burning. The gravesite is beautiful, just down the hill from the Arlington House. The view of Washington DC from the little courtyard below the graves is stunning. This is a must-see destination.

This is a busy place to visit. Someone put a great deal of thought into this Memorial. I suspect it will last an eternity. As it well should.

The most famous gravesite at the most famous cemetery. That said, it can actually be a little anticlimactic relative to the totality of the place overall.

Everyone on the hop on/ off tour rightly kept quiet and respectful as we reached this historic and meaningful site.
