We finally headed up to the top of Mt. Erie near Anacortes and were rewarded with an incredibly drive and then equally amazing scenery at the top..What a view!

We like to walk up here now and then to see if we can still do it. It gives us a good challenge. We just walk the road - but there are lots of trails around too. There are some good views at the top of the valley.

South of the historical Anacortes downtown, the Mt. Erie Park is yet another unforgettable place on Fidalgo Island. Either of the two view points (a short hike from the car parking spot) give you the chance of a panoramic view of western half of the island, Campbell Lake and Puget Sound with it's many island in the area. Breathtaking!

Mt. Erie is a city park on the south edge of Anacortes, just south of Heart Lake. Make your choice, either hike or drive to the top of the mountain. You will find 2 viewpoints on the right, near the top of the road. The first looks NW to Barrows Bay, Skyline Marina and the San Juan Islands. The view... More

A little bit of imagination to call it a mountain (1273'), but the views are certainly worth the drive through the Anacortes Community Forest Lands, with all their hiking trails. The vista is mostly to the south towards Lake Campbell, but in the evening, as the sun sets, the view over the San Juan Islands at one of the overlooks... More

The best way to see this area is by airplane, but from Mount Erie is almost is specticular. You will be surprised at the amount water and islands in all directions. And, so easy in get to.

The road is not for lily livers. It is steep, beautiful, & twisty. The view is amazing, as Mt Erie can be seen all around for many miles. Trees are beginning to occlude the view, but the view is still good.

The drive to the top was fun with great views of the San Juan Islands and Widbey Island. If you want a workout bike to the top and enjoy a long coast to the bottom. Worth the trip for sure, but wait for a nice day for better views.

The road was easy to access and driving was easy. There were some outlook stops with plaques and markers to indicate what we were looking at.. Views all around the park enable a good understanding of the area geography. The area would be foggy in the rain, so not recommended then

I didn't even know this place existed so was glad to see it on the map and take our little side trip there. The views from the top were gorgeous as you could see all of the islands. I would like to go back on a sunny day so I could see the mountain ranges too.
