Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was very convenient for us to spend some time at this beach as our hotel was right across from it. It was a great afternoon for strolling as it was a sunny day and the temperature was quite mild for November. It is an expansive area to stroll along and there were local surfers out on the surf. This must be a pretty popular area when the surf is high. Nice to take time out from a hectic schedule of daily sight seeing. Nice to zone out and enjoy the sunshine and sea breeze.

The beach is quite large and there are locals drying kelp at some parts of the beach. Seems like there are also horse riding available. Lots of kites flying in the area and they can also swoop pretty low, so better to be careful when you have food.

We were on a mission. Rented bikes and rode for 25 minutes up the coast. And lo and behold, we actually DID see the great mountain. It is imposing and amazing. But since it is still far away and the air was hazy, our cameras did not quite capture it. But we know it is possible, we have seen other photos. Along the beach were children, families, and dogs playing. Not the loveliest sand in the world, but with the beautiful backdrop it certainly suffices.

We went to this beach to see what the coast looked like, and it is not reaaly a good beach. But if you are visiting Japan in Summer, it is perfecr to refresh after visiting the Great Buddha.

I LOVE Yuigahama beach... aside from it being the setting for Elfen Lied, the Shonan Coast itself is very scenic and beautiful, with amazing sunrises in particular. My friend got stung by a jellyfish but it was really minor so we just laughed it off.

Nine of us visited this beach on Friday, July 26. The beach was dirty with lots of trash, and no trashcans anywhere. There was a portapotty; one squatty and one urinal. No toilet paper.

To use the restroom or shower, one has to pay 15000 yen/ adult and 8000 yen/ child. Those prices are obscene. There are no public facilities or lower priced facilities, save the portapotty.

Beach sadness.

The beach as a bad rap from everyone and it isn't great. Locals say swim with your mouth closed which is what I did. But if you are hot, tired and just want to swim to cool down this is an easy escape from the city. Nicest to walk around the shopping streets and get food and drinks there and not in the beach bars that are a total rip off, eg 700YEN for a baby plastic cup of beer. but it is fun to watch everyone enjoying the water and quite muddy sand....! and in the end you just a short stop from Tokyo so what do you want .....

Trash everywhere, dead birds and fish on the beach. No rules as other people have posted. No trash cans, so people throw trash. Saw kids playing with trash. Dirt, grit, grime. The worst beach I have ever been on. Not sure if east/south end is better, we gave up after 15 minutes of walking. For shame Japan to let it get this way.

It was great to cycle along. Coming from Australia I found this beach very disappointing with its grey sand and lack of surf. It was a good way to orient your position before cycling to tourist spots.
If you are after interesting beaches then I wouldn't bother.
