Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked there from the side of Sea Paradise next door. As we walked along the seaside path that hugged the cliffs, we could see the torii gate. It was a sunny day with calm waves, so we enjoyed walking along the path as if we were just taking a stroll.
There was a big frog, and it's said that if you stroke it, it will heal any ailments in your body, as the color of its head and eyes had changed. There are also the Meoto Iwa rocks and Ama-no-Iwato rock cave, and the shrine is located in a beautiful location with the sea as a backdrop.

It is a shrine famous for its meotoiwa rock. It was a shrine with a nice breeze and a nice atmosphere by the sea, regardless of the couple's rock.
Free parking is just around the corner, but it might be a little smaller and fill up quickly. Souvenir shops also charge a parking lot along the main road, so you might want to consider it when it's crowded.

I was told by a Japanese friend that I might be disappointed by this shrine since it might seem smaller than I expected, but that was not the case. While it's a short visit to this shrine, it is worth the trip. We stayed at a ryokan nearby so we were able to visit the shrine in relative peace and quiet in the late afternoon, and again in the evening. The essential photo op is the sun rising behind the shrine - and we were surprised at the number of people there at 5:30 am to take a photo. But it was well worth getting up early to get a fantastic memory of Japan picture.

This is a unique shrine in that it features geological objects tied together by 'fate'. It also has a mascot-ish frog deity that is supposed to return what you ask for. 'Kaeru' meaing 'frog' in Japanese can also mean 'to return' depening on the kanji. Parking is a little tough to find. There's an upper carpark near the main road that is steep at 1000 yen, but you can have this waived if you buy something from the associated shop. OR you can try to navigate the backstreets to park closer and probably for free.

A nice shrine that you can't miss if visiting the Meoto iwa rocks. What I liked was watching the local staff dressed in kimonos create souvenirs and were handwriting cards.

If you visit the Meotoiwa Rocks you'll also pass this shrine. Luckily it wasn't too crowded when I visited.

Several shrines along the walkway that clings to the cliff side. Dedicated to Mikestu the Shinto goddess of marriage harmony. Many statue frogs to pat for a wish. And the fascinating folklore story about the 2 off shore rocks 'husband and wife' linked by a rope. Good for a visit but expect crowds.Long shopping complex at the end with lots of souvenir possibilities.

Kids liked the frogs and we liked the rocks. They are a beautiful back drop and I recommend visiting if you intend on visiting the area.

When continuing your walk towards the Meotoiwa rocks you will pass the Futami Okitama Shrine via a small alley on the right-hand side of it.
It is a nice looking shrine though and certainly worth a short stop.

The shrine is worth visiting although it is small if you visit Ise. The formal order to visit shrines is this one, Ise Jingu Geku and Ise Jingu Naigu. If you don't have time, just visit Ise Jingu Naigu. However this shrine is close to a nice beach, so if you have plenty of time to stay in Ise, it is a good idea to visit the other two shrines and then visit this shrine and relax on the beach as we did.
