Unfotunately the castle was closed until March 31 2019 so I was unable to visit the inside. The outside however looked very nice and well kept. The castle is located inside a nice park within a short walking distance from the JR station.

Kokura Castle is attractive to look at but less interesting inside. There are better castles to visit such as Himeji and Matsue. Worth a look all the same and there are other attractions near by such as the Yasaka Shinto Shrine.
