Nice to find a museum where one can take photographs unhindered. So much to see and learn. A history of World Photography portrayed on large time-line boards. Old cameras, some films to watch, and wonderful black&white images beautifully presented

It's a cute small museum. But the ticket is very expensive for Albania. The ticket is almost the same as in museums around the world wich are more bigger.

The gallery/museum was excellent. Caters for Albanian/English/French and gives good sized descriptions. An enjoyable hour and good attraction in the old town.

This place focuses a lot on the history of photography as well as photographers from the region. It's interesting but small. It had less to do with the history of Shkodra or Albania than I expected.

Don`t miss it. The permanent exhibition about Marubi family helped us to understand the cultural scene over the past 3 generations while the current exhibition showed unknowm details about life under a Communist regime.

The museum gives an overview of early photography in Albania, focussing on the Marubi dynasty, as well as other photographers in Shkoder. As communisme forced the closure of all independent photographers, all photographs were taken earlier. There are some great portraits displayed. Most are group...More

Marubi has made an important contribution to the Albanian culture. His permanent exhibit documents many important people in their history and ethnographic aspects of the area. We spent over 2 hours one afternoon going through the exhibits and it was well worthwhile.

It’d be hard not to spot this place when you are in Shkoder as it’s located in the main tourist street. However, I’m not sure if visitors have the interest to visit it. I would highly recommend this. It’s not a big place so it...More
