It's quite a twisty, steep and long road to get to the El Fuerte visitor centre but the views on the way up are spectacular, even if you cannot stop to take photographs. I drove there but it is quite easy to get a taxi...More

I enjoyed every single second of El Fuerte. So much untouched nature, such nice surroundings, no overfilling from tourists and modern institutions. So much less stressful and cheaper than the Machu Pichu Trip! I can totally recommend it to anyone (even if you're not interested...More

This is a must see in my opinion if you are in the area. How often do you get to see man-made sites from the 300's . The visit is an inspiration to learn about pre-Incan cultures that most people have never heard of. Be...More

It is located at 9 KM to Samaipata, I suggest to get a taxi to go there (cost 15$ round trip with 2 hrs of waiting) the ruins can't be compared with the views and landscapes. Bring your snickers and comfortable clothes!

We visited the site from Samaipata by taxi. Our guide spoke fairly good English, but he kept repeating the same things. Nonetheless it was worth it for the explanations. Most impressive are the views from the top. Just incredible!
