Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Also called Šehitluci on Google maps, Banj Brdo is just under 6 km southwest from park Petar Kocic in central Banja Luka. Elevation difference some 260m.
A tarmac road through forest gradually leads up to the top of the hill with a monument dedicated to the Partisan struggle against fascism. The white stone bullet shaped structure is adorned with reliefs depicting German soldiers with swastika insignia fought by partisans with their bare fists. History told by sculptures. Victory is symbolized by a naked young man holding a flag. Free at last.
It is possible to descend from Banj Brdo to the hot springs at Srpske Toplice in the Vrbas valley and return to Banja Luka following the river northward. If you are on foot it is about the same distance as up by the tarmac road.
Those who prefer motorized transport, it is not possible to reach Banj Brdo by car or motorbike. There is public bus. At the bus stop near the monument is a coffee / soft drink machine.
If you like hiking it is best to take the trail to Trešnjik, just a bit higher up, where there is an info board with a map. Maps of hiking trails are not available at the tourist office and trails ar not marked on Google maps. The trail to Ponir is currently almost impossible to follow due to fallen trees blocking the way.

This nice area is very close to city center, but it looks like a jungle. Its wonderful nature. You walk up the hill through wonderful forest and on the top you see this monument. There is also wonderful overview of the city.

Well it takes me around hour and a half, maybe two to go up to the Banj Hill and then the same time going back to the town center but on the top there is some great view on the whole Banja Luka and monument dedicated to WW2 Partisans Krajina fighters. Hill have beautiful nature with forest, some wooden chairs on the road to rest and source of water near the top. I saw some other tracks for those who likes to explore other view points on the hill but I stick with the main one. There is a small shop on the top where you can grab some beer or snacks.

The walk is ok, but IMO not much to see. The landscape is worth the walk. I think they have a bus, but maybe not every day.

Great walk.. We also stayed at the picnic area which is definitely worth it.. Much more than the falling monument... The bus often does not leave and the bar on the monument is now closed for years
