This museum, a 30 minutes, 12 real (one way) boat ride from the marina de Davi is incredible. The contrast between the opulence of the main house and the abject poverty of the bonded labor in the forest is shocking to discover. Portuguese only

This museum was actually a set built for a movie, made after a real village known for latex extraction of the Seringueira trees. It is cheap to visit and there is a guide explaining everything about this era. I'm not sure if there is any guide able to speak in English. The most fun part is the little trip you... More

DO NOT BOOK IN ADVANCE. YOU CAN GET THIS TOUR MUCH CHEAPER ONCE IN MANAUS. It's a movie set and there is no clear indication that this was the way rubber was extracted in the Brazilian jungle. When we arrived, there was no guide so we were shown around by the cleaner. She was lovely and it was great to... More

Here you can have an amazing lesson to learn a lot about how everything was back on the robber plantation period. Be ready to walk and be amazed by all the great things the tour guide will share with you. It is an outdoor museum. Make sure you stay here for about one hour. You need to take a boat... More

The Seringal Museum offers an undiscovered amazing excursion. It is located about half an hour by boat from the Tropical Hotel or the Marine Davi, so that needs some organisation. But the Museum takes you back a century, showing you the real life of a rubber plantage and the process of rubber winning against the background of the story of... More

If you want to know how Manaus grew so fast and became the first capital to have eletric energy in Brazil, you have to go to this place. There is where all this started. The Rubber Boom that started in the middle of the Amazon Jungle has it history told in this place.

Visited as part of the Amazon Eco Adventure 3 day tour. Interesting museum, neat to see the actual location, it gave a good feel of the miserable conditions of the workers and the relative luxury of the owners.

Narrated by an actual rubber tapper in his 70s, this tour focuses on telling how the lifestyle of the people on the rubber plantation was. They make a strong effort to drive home the fact that rubber tappers, who were mainly immigrants from the northeast part of Brazil, were exploited in what the tour guide refers to as white slavery.... Holden from Wisconsin (June 2015) and Ron B. from Miami gave very insightful and helpful reviews as to how to get to this lovely little museum, which might not be authentic, but certainly gives you a fair idea what life must have been like in the jungle during the night of the rubber boom. Just one thing to add, the... More

After a short drive to a very nice Hotel Tropical, we catch a small boat and go on the river for :15 minutes or so the Museu do Seringal Vila Paraiso – the Rubber Museum).
