The most beautiful part of this building in my opinion, were the beautiful stairs that was built in this house. It was my understanding that the wood was cut in the Amazon, shipped to Portugal, the stairs built in Portugal, then shipped back to the residence to be installed. The logistical implication, coupled with the exactness of measurements to create... More

If you have to tour Manaus to fill in time, or are fascinated by rubber baron lifestyle endure a visit, or sit it out in the garden terrace at the back of the house.

Located in the city center of Manaus, the palace functions nowadays as an exibition vennue. Beautiful and full of history, it is a must see in the city.

This was a beautiful building on the outside, but there was not much to see inside. Go, if you have the chance, but it you miss it, no worries...

It was originally the house of a Rubber Baron, of German origin. The house was strategically located near the Rio Negro. From there he exported the rubber to Hamburg. Due to the crisis, decline of the rubber prices, he gave this house as a guarantee for a loan. Due the First World War, he was unable to trade with Germany.... More

Old building, very beautiful and allow free viewing. In the past it was the seat of the courthouse in Manaus, where took place the judgment of crimes.

Planned on visiting the palace inside and outside after visiting Museo do Indios, but when I got there the gates were closed. I talked to a guard and he told me the only way to get to it was through the front gate, but when I went to the park behind it, I was able to get on the palace grounds... More

Worth the visit. Tour guides are very helpful, nicest folks we encountered in Manaus. A glimpse of how the European Rubber Barons used to live.

Our guide took us here for a brief stop. Unfortunately, it was being remodeled and we were unable to go inside. Still, the building and the surrounding park were quite nice and well kept, and offered a great place for pictures.
