Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fabulous museum, great collections of colonial era and slave jewelry and silverware and china displayed with care and sensitively curated. A great place to while away a few hours. Much enjoyed.

So proud to be Filipino!!! Strong sentiment felt especially after viewing artwork at Pinto. Grounds were beautiful too. Saw a young couple going around for what I assume was pre-wedding photos.
Didn't stay for food but bought juice to go. Glad there's something like this to showcase Filipino work. This reminds me of Grounds for Sculpture in New Jersey USA but on a smaller scale or Meijer Gardens in Michigan.

Amazing exhibits, my favorite was of the jewelry designed, crafted and worn by Africans. This museum also has captions written in English and Portuguese.

...this is the place to go. This museum has many antiques (crystal and silverware) and stunning wood carvings. This is a mirror into the life of Bahian families of the 18th and 19th centuries. The grounds themselves, with the beautiful colonial house and the well maintained lawn, are worth seeing.

This is a wonderful Museum full of antique silver, crystal candlesticks and jewellry collected by a rich farmer during his lifetime. It is not too big, but well worth avisit to see how the well off lived a century or so ago. Well captioned in English I would recommend it.

Beautiful paintings, lovely jewelry and furniture - in general excellent pieces from a variety of types of art. Definitely one of the cultural highlights of the visit to Salvador. There is also a small cafe to get a coffee after the tour. Highly recommended.

History is always interesting but again much focus on the rulers and not the regular folk. Shows furniture and accoutrements from other eras which is educational in and of itself.
