Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My son and I spent some lovely afternoons on this beach! It's safe and regularly patrolled by lifeguards, there are chairs and tables, parasols available for a very reasonable price, and a constant flow of people offering drinks and food but they aren't pushy and are simply there in case you want something.
There are many families with children and they bring their picnics and music, it's a lovely, friendly, atmosphere. A little noisy but in a fun way!
My only criticism would be that there are no taps or showers available to wash off the sand when we get off the beach.
I will go again!

Fresh off the cruise ship sixe of us piled into a taxi in the street outside the decrepit port area. 30 reais to the nearby beach at Barra. Joined the local throng, a heaving mass on a hot sunday afternoon, and were promptly seated by attentive owner of the impromptu bar....and thereafter served endless ice-cold beers, caipirinhas etc. Much shouting and general jolification. Not the beautiful people you see at Ipanema, but the real Brazil! Great place to buy your fake Lacoste T-shirt or Adidas baseball cap from one of the many vendors. Wholly enjoyable providing you are in a small group of friends.

The Barra's Lighthouse is a postcard of Salvador City ; at beach with the same name , is the oldest in brasil but is in a great conservation status . The visit worth 'cause the historical value , the beautiful neighborhood and the stunning views when you climb until the top ! At the building of the old fort , we visited the museum that explain the History of the Lighthouse since the 16th Century and an interesting pictures exposition , at the roof we experimented a delicious chocalate cake at the Coffee Shop and in the balcony at the top of the Lighthouse ( very close to the headlight) we felt as we were flying over the Barra's beach .. amazing!

I visited the city and this part of the beach, with the lighthouse and this beautiful area, in these lonely times because of the Covid issue.

Just arrived and applied sun tan lotion. Distracted by a man selling water and blinded by the sun. At that moment our rugsac was stolen by a young man. We ran after him and tried to get people to stop him but he dissapeared into a shopping street.
We lost our holiday photoes, watch money and our clothes.
Not a good experience. The police was not interrested in catching him or retreiving our things.
The beach was not very pleasant, dirty, smelly and had evidence of hospital waste. So wish we had never gone.

The beach has a beautiful sunset but it was way too crowded to sit down and the entire place reeked of urine and marijuana. Definitely not a place for relaxation or children. Skip!

better to visit with the new urban design and attraction. Be careful with very sunny days because there is not enough shadow along the beach.

Written 5 January 2019
From the airport, don’t take taxi too expensive. Get Uber for half price;
OR
Take an executive bus if you’re traveling with a carry on

Praia do Forte, Guajaruba, Ilha Do Frades, Itaparica son excursiones imperdibles y cercanas a la ciudad.

É bom verificar a meteorologia local.
Abraço e boa viagem.
