The church is very beautiful and the ceremony was amazing with a catholic music with african rythm ! Very friendly ambience , a special experince , I'm sure that I'll return !

Constructed by black slaves, this church is an iconic building with stunning sculptures and artwork, located on the square adjacent the Cathedral.

Another interesting place while in Pelourinho is "Our Lady of the Rosary of Black People". Our guide Marcos explained the details of this site for us. That made all the difference.

This small church is a gem. It so beautifully reflects on the African roots in Salvador and how Roman Catholicism brought by the Portuguese colonists mingled with religious beliefs of the slaves.
