Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went there to find a good beach. Everything was fine until we saw the bill . They wanted us to pay 10€ for the waiter and 15€ just for using the table and the chairs on the beach . They also added in the bill things we never ordered.
I asked some locals and they told me that this beach is a trap for tourists .
So ask before you seat on a chair .

It was once a beautiful and nice beach, the best to swim in my opinion, but last time I was there I was disappointed to see how dirty it was, there was trash all over it. I have to add that I had my bag stolen there about 5 years ago.

Be careful with guys who seem to be very helpful during your stay on the beach. There is no free lunch! They think they are very smart with foreigners! 2 coconut water for R$ 79,00.

Don't go to this beach at weekends or hollidays because is to much crowded. If you can go to Piatã's beach in another days you'll find a very good beach to swim and relax

MarcioSMelo, Praia de Piatã is one of the most beloved by the soteropolitanos, and the weekends are the days when the pessaos have more time to enjoy the beach. But the beach of Piatã is thus, free and democratic. Be always welcome! thanks for the comment.

I have enjoyed this beach in 2012 and 2013. It was full of baracas, nice atmosphere. Now, especially on weekends, the beach is full, dangerous, and a lot of rubbish remains in the sand. People who used to take care of baracas are not cleaning up anymore. We didn t feel safe. On our way back on the Orla that has been refurbished, there was some shooting. Police was there with horses, didn t do anything.

The stretch of beach is just mind blowing. Miles of untamed ocean and not too many people around, and the ocean at its best.
Good strong waves, maybe not for surfing, but a nice place to just spend some time staring at the sea by yourself before you decide you want to tackle the waves yourself.
not too far from Itapua & Vermulho for a nice evening drink.

Very good beach, warm, clean and calm water, charismatic and helpful vendors.
What ruins it is the bad faith of the “sellers” who keep approaching everyone who passes by the sea, offering chairs and umbrellas from the stalls. When “fishing” the tourist, they categorically inform you that they do not charge any fees, that you will only pay for what you consume and when closing the bill, a “service fee” appears, worth R$ 20.00. (even though there is no reasonable service provision, as you have to go to the stall's central office to ask for what you are going to consume) … I had this TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with “BARRACA DO RICK”, when I told the seller Ilana that we didn't have After agreeing that, she simply replied that Piatã worked like that and that I would have to pay, I said that I wasn't going to pay the amount, but in order not to ruin the end of my vacation and turn into an argument, I paid the full amount, but here's a tip to be careful!!!

Beautiful beach but with strong waves and not suitable for swimming, at least it had a red flag in August. Be careful with Divina's tent, one of the first. They used several people to assist us and from the beginning tried to deceive about whether or not they would charge for housekeeping and services. They passed an incorrect price on dishes and then charged a higher price. Then, when it's time to charge, someone else comes and it's difficult to question them because they tell a different story. They even tried to deceive us in the sum of the orders. I will never go back there again and I won't recommend it to anyone.
